Material Engineering: Al₂O₃ Content & Temperature Resistance

Performance advantage: At equivalent pressure drop, ceramic Pall rings handle 50–100% higher throughput than Raschig rings. At equivalent throughput, pressure drop is 50–70% lower. Packing volume can be reduced by 20–40% compared to Raschig rings.

For chloride-containing environments at moderate temperature, SS316L (Mo ≥ 2.0%) may be considered. For high-temperature chloride service, ceramic remains the only viable option.
