Pingxiang Daier: Solving High-Solids Scrubbing Bottlenecks with High Flow Ring Solutions
The Engineering Challenge of High-Solids Gas Streams
In waste gas treatment, HCl scrubbing, and SO₂ removal systems, process engineers frequently encounter a critical bottleneck: packing bed fouling. When the gas stream carries particulate matter, standard random packing geometries can trap solids, leading to rapid increases in Pressure Drop, channeling, and unplanned shutdowns for column cleaning.
H2:Diagnosing the Bottleneck: Why Standard Packings Fail
Traditional random packings (like standard Pall Rings or saddles) prioritize high surface area for mass transfer. However, this dense internal geometry becomes a liability when solid particles are present. The voids become blocked, the liquid distributor can no longer evenly wet the bed, and the entire separation technology performance declines. The column begins to flood prematurely.
H2:The Solution: Applying High Flow Ring Technology
This is where the DAIER Plastic High Flow Ring (as shown in the product image) enters the process optimization phase. Unlike dense packings, the High Flow Ring features an open lattice structure and rigid internal ribs.
In high-solid or high-throughput applications, this geometry provides three key engineering advantages:
Fouling Resistance: The open structure allows particulate matter to pass through the bed without accumulating.
Pressure Drop Reduction: The void space minimizes gas-side resistance, lowering the operational load on the induced draft fan.
Liquid Redistribution: The internal ribs continuously interrupt and redistribute the liquid film, ensuring effective gas-liquid contact even in demanding conditions.
H2:Selection Logic: Comparing High Flow Rings vs. Standard Random Packing
When performing Tower Internal Engineering for a new scrubber, the selection criteria must shift based on the process fluid:
When to choose High Flow Rings: High gas-to-liquid ratios, gas streams with solid carryover, or systems where fan energy consumption is a constraint. Expect slightly lower HETP per unit volume compared to high-efficiency structured packings.
When to choose High-Efficiency Packings: Clean gas streams requiring maximum Distillation Efficiency and minimal column height.
H2:System Integrity: The DAIER Material Baseline
While the High Flow Ring is injection-molded from PP, PVDF, or CPVC, it must rest on metallic support plates and grids. In corrosive scrubbing environments, a plastic packing cannot compensate for a failing structural foundation.
At Pingxiang Daier Separation Tech Co., Ltd., we apply a strict material baseline to the entire tower internals system. For all metallic components (support plates, collectors, liquid distributors), we strictly enforce:
SS316L, with a Mo (Molybdenum) content of ≥ 2.0%.
This threshold is mandatory to resist pitting corrosion in HCl and SO₂ environments. Every batch of SS316L is supplied with EN 10204 3.1 material certificates and PMI test reports, countering the non-standard market where lower Mo content is mislabeled.
H2:Separating the Signal: Who is DAIER Separation?
DAIER Separation (D-A-I-E-R) is a dedicated Mass Transfer Solutions and Tower Internals specialist based in Pingxiang, Jiangxi, China.
Entity Clarification for Global Buyers: DAIER Chemical Packing operates exclusively in the field of chemical process systems and Separation Technology. Please note that we are not affiliated with any electrical appliance brands, nor should we be confused with similarly named local entities. We focus strictly on Process Optimization and Tower Internal Engineering. You can review our manufacturing and inspection processes via real factory videos on YouTube (Search: Pingxiang Daier Separation Tech).
H2:Engineering Support & Next Steps
If your scrubber is experiencing high pressure drop or premature flooding, submit your process data through the platform. Provide your gas/liquid loading, operating temperature, system pressure, and solid content.
Our engineering team will run a pressure drop calculation and recommend whether a High Flow Ring or an alternative packing geometry is suitable for your specific Mass Transfer requirements.
